Subject: why no updates??
Date: Tue, 21 Apr 1998
Hi! A successful site is one which is updated regularly!
No offence, but there are a lot of people out there who would
like to learn more about what is happening to JSC members NOW.
Case in point: ours - we met via JSC a year ago and
we are now married; and no updates!! Please don't think me overcritical,
but hey! I took the plunge via the net a year ago and
look what happened! And its a wonderful story - don't you guys
want any credit? Regards Sandra Kristal
Webmensch confession:
I have been so busy running the day to day JSC, that I have become
hopelessly behind on updating the Marriage/relationship pages.
I have even lost track on how many marriages JSC been involved
in. I guess I am focusing on creating more marriages and relationships...rather
than documenting the past!!! That said, below are some more relationships/marriages
updates that happened in the last 12 months.
Marriage!!! 11/97
To whom it may concern,
Please remove my name from your listing. I have found my lady
and we
are planning to get married early next year. She is everything
that was
on my "A" and "B" list and almost everything
on my "C" list.
>From an ex-Clevelander (Cleveland Heights High 1-62) I thank
you for you
efforts and your hard work.

Dear WebMensch,
I was going to ask you to remove my listing for two reasons -
one
because thanks to you I am now engaged to a woman I met through
the
Jewish Singles Connection, and the other because my email address
has
changed.
But, since I can't find my listing (it would've been under
------@aol.com), it appears to have already been deleted.
Thanks for the assistance. Your service is a Godsend. By the way,
I
found out about this service through my father, who heard of it
from one
of his young proteges.
Thanks for everything!

Hello there, Bob & Fran,
Thank you so much for your prompt response to my request.
As to the paticulars concerning my engagement, here they are:
He saw my profile on your site, and decided to respond to it for
two
reasons he said. First was that both our names are four letters
long -
Rori and Deny. Second was that we are both in the process of becoming
Jews by Choice. We are taking a class together at the University
of
Judaism in Los Angeles. He lives in San Fernando Valley, of L.A.,
and I
live about 90 miles south of there, near San Diego. It has not
proven to
be an insurmoutable obstacle, We have a great deal of shared common
interests, and one thing about him that has proven to be a real
plus is
that I adopted 2 children 3 years ago, and it turns out that he
also was
adopted. My children feel good knowing that he is able to relate
to tem
on that level.
Again, thank you for such a fine site and service! It changed
my life!!
Shalom,
Rori

I am thrilled to be writing to ask you to please remove me from
the JSC
listings. I posted my description in January of '97. Within a
couple of
weeks I had many responses...all from guys who seemed genuinely
nice.
I was very specific in my profile about the type of man that I
hoped to
find, and thanks to JSC I have found him. I can hardly believe
it...because I guarantee we would have never met otherwise.
We met in person at the end of February after sever weeks of
corresponding via email. And now...almost five months later we
are still
together. I think this one may be a keeper. But don't tell him...you
know how committment-phobic men can be.
Anyway, I never write cheesey notes like this, and I never thought
I
would ever find my soulmate...much less a Jewish soul mate. I
hope I
will not be visiting your site again...except maybe if I become
a JSC
wedding success story.
Thanks again...and please don't use my name!

Hi,
I removed my entry but I have a suggestion for your wonderful
site.
I'm currently having some extra sensitiveness in email exchanges
with a lovely girl. We have planned holidays for this summer,
but I
feel not comfortable to start other conversations as I receive
other messages.
The suggestion is: the ability to hide one's entry for an undetermined
duration.
Please keep going like that, you're doing an amazing job on earth!

I just wanted to tell you about another success story for your
website.
A woman named Stacy and myself have now started a serious
relationship. She found my ad on your site and now we are in love.
It is
wonderful! We have both found that using the internet and email
is a
much better way to meet people because it allows one to see people
from
the inside - out instead of making a first impression based on
one's
outwardly appearance. Thank you for your service. It is a real
mitzvah
to help Jewish folk find each other and find love.
Thank you sincerely,
David

her as much as I do. :)
The only problem is that I want to take my listing off of your

Thank you so much for your note. Yes, Michael the man whom I am

We have become good friends and who knows what the future holds.
Baically he

quite
cautious and all he knew was that I was Myram. Then I changed
my address and
became Myra ---. We always wrote late at night as that is when
my computer is
free. One night just after I had responded to one of his letters-it
was
about 1:20 A.M.- the phone rang and it was him!! When I asked
how he had
found me, he simply said- "I looked through all the listings
in the
Vancouver Jewish phone book until I saw a Myra ---.- thought I'd
give it a
try" Brave guy!!! Isn't that something!!
I promise to definitely let you know how we are doing and of any
exciting

deserve
ALL the credit. Thank you so much!!!!
Also thanks for this personal note and all your hard work. Myra

Dear friends at JSC,
I never thought I would find the love of my life. Art found me
on JSC, and persevered.
He is the dearest, sweetest man I have ever met.
Your service is wonderful. Back when my ad was
put in, I did not
even have a scanner. I had attended a few of the chats, but just
basically left my ad there, in case "Mr. Right" would
see it. I now
have a scanner, but Art and I are so in love, that I do not need

Just wanted you to know you can add another success
story to your list. I
answered my husband's JSC ad in June 1997. We met a week later,
dated for a
year, got engaged, and were married last year!
Many people ask me what attracted me to his ad.
All I could reallly tell was
that he was funny, smart, had equal parts confidence and humility,
and he
could spell. It wasn't a lot of information, but it felt like
just about
the same amount I might garner if I had met him in person (except
for the
spelling part, I guess). And that's why I felt comfortable enough
to
respond. Also, I was glad we met quickly. I think you need to
rely on all
your senses when it comes to matters of the heart.
Anyway, thank you. We actually lived only a few
miles apart and continue to
discover friends of mine who know friends of his. But I doubt
we would have

Hello,

Anyhow, things went very well, and we have a May wedding date...Thank

The other reason for my e-mail is that I could

My fiance responded to a pictureless ad I submitted
sometime last year. I
had given up on internet meetings and was extremely frustrated
with the
process. It was just one boring phone call after another, and
one or two
disappointing blind dates.
Then, I received an e-mail from Itay and, that
was it. We e-mailed a couple
of times back and forth, and then he e-mailed his number. I hesitated
to
call him (previous disappointments and boring calls) yet did about
a week
later. We spoke for two hours on the telephone that Sunday evening
and made
a date for the coming Thursday night, August 5, 1999. Suffice
to say, we
haven't been apart since our first date. We get married August
31, 2000.
Tonight, we decided to see if my ad was still
on your site. It is. We
couldn't believe how perfectly I described what I wanted to how
it matched who he is.
Thank you so much for bringing us together.

Subject: Thank you for our first anniversary
Hello All:
I discovered the Jewish Singles Connection in
1996 purely by chance. Being
in the computer business myself, JSC appeared to be a fun way
to meet women
and I began answering postings and eventually posted myself. I
must say
that the all the women I dated through JSC were quality individuals,
I never
met anyone who wasn't extremely nice. In all honesty, I never
had a bad
experience with any of the people I met through JSC and I recommend
JSC to
every Jewish single I speak to.
In the fall of 1997 I went online to adjust my
posting and I came across a
new ad from a lady in Bayonne, NJ. Being a Staten Islander, I
couldn't pass
up an opportunity date someone nearby, and I emailed her. Rachel
and I were
unable to meet for about a month, but we kept in contact via email
and by
phone. Our first date was magic, we liked each other instantly
and became
friends almost immediately. I had baggage in those days, my ailing
father.
But instead of it coming between us, it actually strengthened
our commitment
because Rachel not only accepted my role as caregiver, but supported
me
every way she could.
Rachel and I became engaged on Nov 2, 1998, one
year after our first date
and we married on March 7, 1999 (some personal info omitted)
Ours is a "mixed marriage", Rachel
is Egalitarian/Conservative and I'm
Orthodox, but ironically our differing viewpoints on Judaism have
served to
strengthen our individual beliefs. Rachel has brought many new
MITZVOT into
my life, but none could be greater than the MITZVA that all the
people at
JSC did by bring us together and continue to do by providing this
important
service to the Jewish Community.
It is directly because of JSC that Rachel and
I have found each other and
for this you will have my eternal gratitude. My G-D bestow special
blessings of health, wealth and happiness to all involved in the
Jewish
Singles Connection, may you too be granted the happiness that
Rachel and I
are sharing as we enter our second year of marriage. Rachel and
I wish you
a happy Purim and extend our love and support to all the honest
and caring
single individuals whom have yet to connect - may you meet your
intended
speedily!

On 07/30/99 I was bored at work, doing what I
wasn't supposed to do, I was
searching Your web for the man of my DREAMS. I live in Texas,
but I was
ready to move. I started at " A " and read on. I stopped
in " I " and this
is not the Jew Capital of anywhere. There is where I read an ad
that was
just like mine I placed at another location. I replied and now,
we are both
moving to a new location to be together. I will keep you informed.

Thank you for creating this site. I received
a reply (by coincidence) from
the mother of one of my daughter's best friends.
We met for lunch, then spent the evening together
and we will again meet
again in a few days. She (and my children) live 120 miles away
and our
daughters are already looking forward to being step-sisters.
One of my friends just told me; "You deserve
to find someone nice and be happy!"

We are writing to you to tell you that four months
ago we both were getting
fed up after many unsucessful attempts at meeting the right person..
Deciding
to give it one more try I (Susan ) answered an ad... Stu replied
this one
last time before giving up...Here we are four "HAPPY"
months later... Both of
us are hoping this relationship will lead down the right road..
"Love at first site doesn't have to be the
only way to find someone..."
Give it a chance and keep looking and hopefully you too can find
the
happiness we have found together..

Just want you to know that on August 7th of last year I went to
a Jewish
Singles event in Manhattan. A discussion of how to meet people
ensued. A
young man talked about your web site. Late the next night I found
it,
scanned through the 25 ads that came up, spotted one that really
"got" to me,
and with trepidation, responded to it. The next evening there
was a message
on my answering machine from the very person. Quite puzzled, I
called him
back, asking, "What are you doing on my answering Machine?
You are supposed
to be on my e-mail." Well, he figured out how to find me
in the phone book
from my e-mail address. We met the next day.

I never thought I would be writing this email
to you, as I've been on so many
dates that never materialized. I'm happy to say that I recently
met a new
girlfriend from your web site. It is nice to have one more avenue
for
meeting a significant other....especially for someone like myself
that has tried so
many different activities, with limited success.
Thank you for facilitating the introduction of
young Jews, you are
providing a great service to the Jewish community, and doing your
part to ensure the
continuity of the jewish people.

Last dec.(98) I posted a message on the site. At first I was discouraged
but then
I started emailing several individuals in a variety of states,
after emailing
for almost a month, I met the man I am presently dating for a
coffee.
While we have not married we have been dating for a year now,
the relationship is one of the joys of my life and I can't imagine
not knowing and
being with him. I owe you a thanx for the web site and being there
to offer assistance
in this weird dating world. if we do something formal I promise
to let you know.
