situation, that we should talk on the phone. After a number of conversations
B--- took the plunge and came up to Canada to visit. After visits between

Chanukah gift this year in the form of the the best friend I'd never

reason - I am engaged. In September 1996, I placed my listing on the JSC

received several nice messages (some of whom I correspond with still), but

October, I got a message from an ad I had responded to and I guess from
there,
the rest is history. We are engaged thanks to meeting on the JSC. Ron is
from Canada and is working on his PhD in Georgia and I live in Tennessee.

Hi there....
I am writing to ad to what my partner and soon to be wife has already
wrote.
The first and only person I ever corresponded with on your service was
Lisa...
From our very first letter we both had a special and strong feeling
about eachother...
We began this amazing journey together on March 15th 1997.......
Although seperated by thousands of miles and a nine hour time
difference,our communication found it's own schedule and life will
never be the same for either of us.
We wrote 1500 plus letters in 9 weeks as well as many phone
conversations, letters, pictures and even a video...
But we knew a meeting in person was the last step in knowing if what
we were feeling over the Net was to be in eachother's arms.
I was to travel to Madrid on May 12th but a few days prior to my
departure during a medical check, a small cancer was found on my skin
and I had to go through 2 surgical procedures.
My trip would have to be put on hold..
Well Lisa decided that she would come to Seattle..
I was so touched by her. I told her I would not be looking that great
and I hoped she liked bandages..She just wanted to come and kiss my
lip...WOW!!!!!
The surgery was a success and on May 17th Bandages on my face I drove
to Seattle to meet my love...
Lisa got off her plane at 3;15 pm and I waited in the waiting area
outside customs...
Finally she walked through the doors and into my arms.
Our first kiss and hug was the most incredible moment in our lives.
We had both found our true love ........
We became officially engaged on May 23 .......

Here's the details on my relationship with ------ (which YOU are responsible
for :) ) as per you recent request.
I met ----- while I was a law student at ---------- School of Law.
He responded to my ad, we emailed a lot (!), he offered to
take me to the Eagles/Dallas game in Philly (except we couldn't get tickets
and if we could have found them they would have been VERY expensive!), he
called me that night and we met on October 5.
Our first date was Chinese and a movie (very typical first date stuff) and
for Hanukah I gave him a framed movie poster from the movie we saw. (F----
is
a saver and has every movie stub of every movie we have seen together! )
Originally we had planned on going out on that Sunday only and go to the
Philly Zoo. Instead ----- came up the night before, stayed at a local motel
and we did the dinner/movie thing and then the zoo the next day. I had to
kick him out Saturday night or we would have stayed up all night talking!
:)
The best part of the weekend was the trip to the zoo. We walked around
holding hands and looking like we had known each other for YEARS instead
of
hours!!! We have both determined that we fell in love that day, though I
don't think that either one of us was ready to admit that that beautiful
fall
afternoon. We have since realized it!
F---- is really a wonderful man, yet he has one large flaw ( besides his
ex
wife! :) )
He lives in Washington, D.C. and I am in Pa., over 2 hours
away! Does that stop this wonderful man from coming up just to take me to
dinner on a Wednesday evening? Nope! :)
While we are definite candidates for the marriage colloum ... please don't
hold your breath waiting for us. We had planned on doing the wedding thing
in 1999 about the time I finished law school. I have since dropped out of
school (hated it!! ), but the wedding plans are still kinda' set for 2 years
from now.
I do try and tell anyone I can about your wonderful service! Why not? It

You can add another success story to your list. I was introduced to
thejewishpeople.org last November by one of my friends. I didn't even own
a computer and I had no idea how to contact all of these nice guys without
an e mail address. Finally in January I broke down and bought a computer,
and began looking through your listing of eligible men. Finally I selected
"Max," who seemed to have a bit in common with me -- we're both
in Houston, both single parents, professionals, and amateur musicians. We
e-mailed each other for a while and finally met for lunch. After that we
were inseparable. A month later I was attending my weekly Toastmasters meeting
with Max as my guest (I'm president). At the end of the meeting, I got up
on the podium as I normally do to introduce the guests. When I got to Max
and asked him to introduce himself, he bounded up on the podium, whipped
out a ring and asked me to marry him! To say I was speechless is an
understatement.
Anyway, I can't thank you enough for the wonderful opportunity and our future

Dear Friends,
Just thought you would like to know of yet another successful match that
came about as a result of listings on The Jewish Singles Connection. I live
in Connecticut and someone told me about your service. First I placed a
notice on your list, and I did receive e-mail from several very nice men
in the Northeast. In addition, I replied to a notice placed by a friend
of a man living in Tennessee about him. She passed on my reply to him and
he wrote back to me. Before long he suggested we speak on the phone. I used
to live in Georgia where he has spent quite a bit of time, and we soon discovered
that we have several good friends in common (for instance--my current rabbi
was his rabbi several years ago). After several weeks and many long long
talks, he came up here and we met. After several more meetings, we became
engaged last week and B"H we plan to marry in November. Everyone who
hears how we met is amazed. They can't believe "it
really works," but bashert is bashert. We were really meant for each
other. As we talked, we learned that we had had several opportunities in
the past to have met in person before when our paths crossed or to have
been introduced to one another by one of
our mutual friends. However, it took The Jewish Connection to bring us together,

The whole irony of the situation is this. Mike, my future husband
lives 15 minutes away from me. I live in Bayonne, NJ and have been
living there for the past 27 years. He had been working in Bayonne for
the past 18 years but our paths never crossed until JSC brought us
together. I had been attending local Jewish singles events in the
surrounding neigborhoods, but it was always the same people. More
women than men etc. I had given up hope of meeting anyone
When I stumbled across the JSC homepage, I signed up without any
expectations. Within a few days, Mike answered my ad. We e-mailed
each other for a month, talked on the phone, and then finally met.
It's been great ever since. We will let you know when the wedding is.
JSC is a real blessing and I will recommend it to every single Jew I

First of all thank you for the wonderful service you provide.
It truly is a mitzvah! I posted a listing in October of 97, not really expecting
anything. I did get a few very nasty replies, but I got one very
intriguing one. We e-mailed each other for a month before meeting
in person and it's been great ever since. So it's good-bye for
me now, because I've found my bashert. We're working towards marriage.
I find it very ironic that we met via the internet. He actually
lives 15 minutes away from me. On top of that, I've

Jewish communal service field and still had trouble meeting "a nice

boy". My cousin told me about your service (she met her boyfriend through
JSC and they're now talking marriage !) so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I've received many responses to my ad. However, at about the same time I
placed my ad, I met a wonderful man whom I've fallen in love with and now

placed by J----. He said he was a smoker, so am I , so we alreday had
something in common.
We wrote continuously everynight until we made up to meet near where I live.
On January 31 1997, he drove here and through a lot of misunderstandings
(like the hotel spelled his name wrong & never changed it), we never
hooked
up. We were both very upset with one another. The next day we e-mailed on
another again & he called me on the correct number (I had just gotten

that happened and we wound up laughing about it.
We did meet the following weekend & every weekend after that.
