Feed Back - the JSC has from day one asked for feedback, both positive and negative. A recent suggestion (see below) has motivated us to publish some of this feed back. We hope this give you a feel for how people are using the JSC and also the results of the connections from the Jewish Singles Connection site.
Oh yes, we have had 1 very negative response...a lady reported receiving emails from men who where less than courteous. Another complained of abusive language. In another case, a guy wanted off because people responding didn't live near him. JSC is not perfect, but check out the response below and then you decide if it worth a shot!!!!

I wanted to take a moment to tell you, what a great idea! We are lions
who have been thrown to the Christians, and your page is a wonderful
resource to help tune out the noise, and tune in to something that's
important to all of us. Thanks for being there.

Have already met many friendly and outgoing singles from your ads, and
I had what I would consider to be a great idea - a testimonials page.
My first reaction to your page, and that of more than one I have met
there, was to hesitate, be a little suspicious (not a bad thing) and
wonder if I should or if I shouldn't. Some testimonials (even
anonymous ones) of people who have had good experiences online (reason
enough to get involved) or who may have found there dream match, would
do wonders to get many more interested onlookers into the spirit.

More work for you, I can hear you saying, but made easier by the
positive way you are affecting people's lives. Thanks again, and have

RELIGION...pick one

We have been told (see note below) that non-Jews are putting listing on JSC. There is no way to prevent this...but we are going to ask for full disclosure. Going forward we are going to request that individuals sending in a personal listing indicate their religion.
This isn't going to be fool proof...people can lie...but at least we will have asked the question.

I've about had it with gentile females who are using this site to snag a
jewish husband. You know the old saying, about jewish men making good
husbands etc.

I'd like to see you put something on this board and attached to the
individual connections stating very plainly that this is a resource for
JEWISH singles, and that if you are not jewish you are not welcome here.


Editor's historical note:
The comment "You know the old saying about Jewish men making good husbands" is NOT very old. 30-40 years ago Jews were NOT in demand...in fact they were stigmatized and discriminated against. For gentiles, it was definitely NOT cool to bring a Jewish boy home. The world has changed...with multiculturalism and the greater acceptance of Jews in America. This "new friendly world" has however has created a very difficult environment as it relates to intermarriage. We at JSC are trying in our small way to help deal with this new reality.

I met a few good men, and made some friends all over the US and Canada. Now
I feel that wherever I go, I have someone to visit. I feel closer to the
jewish community than I have in years. Best of all, I met an amazing guy in
my own city. I don't know what will be, but I know that I won't do better.

If only more people were computer literate and participated. This is
definitely the wave of the future. Within the global village of today and
the lack of opportunity and time to meet people within the immediate
community what better way to maximize the chances of meeting your soul
mate. I only hope this or a similar service works for me. You would think
that people would flock to obtain an e-mail address, after all they can
access a computer and get their mail from anywhere, a copy center that has
cmputers for rent, a college campus or even the public library. Its risk
free for the ladies. They can always ask for an e-mail picture before they
agree to meet someone or other information that can be checked. What else
can I say except that I hate cigarrette smoke filled bars and so do my
lungs.

Hiya there. I received a lot of replies to my posting on the JSC, although
at present I'm dating someone who I met through a different avenue. But all
in all, it was a fun experience!

I think it might be useful if you included a question item on how far the per-
son is willing to travel to meet someone else. I was getting replies from
different countries, and that seemed kinda crazy! And finally, I think it
might be helpful for you to expand this service for older folks--my single
dad, for example, would surely enjoy meeting single Jewish woman through this
medium!

want to sound like just a kvetch. You asked about the replies which
offended me--nothing terribly obscene, but rather forward and aggressive,
along the lines of "I read your ad and want you in my arms right now".
Perhaps this is standard for personal ad replies--your network is the
only place I've ever posted one, so I may just be an over-reacting
newbie. Perhaps I'll try again later, with a more conservative message,
once I'm more comfortable with the medium.

I will still visit the male ads on JSC--I have met some interesting email
correspondents this way and feel more connected to the Jewish community
now.

nice Jewish women via the internet is a comforting alternative to singles
